CONTRIBUTION TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF LAW & LEGAL PROFESSION:

(i) Simulated the passage and assent of Criminal Procedure (Miscellaneous provisions)
Amendment No. 1 Law No. 8 of 2006 of Abia State which abolished “holding charge” in
the administration of criminal justice.

(ii) Established the Abia State Law Reports and served as the Chairman of the Editorial
Board Abia State Law Reports.  The Law Report publishes judgments of High Court of
Abia State, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. There are 3 editions in circulation.

(iii) Completed the revision of Laws of Abia State from 1960-2005 which will come out in 9
volumes and ensured that contract for the publication was awarded.

(iv) Secured the approval of the Executive Governor of Abia State Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu for the
creation of Legal Units in the 17 Local Government Area of Abia State and ensured the
employment of Legal Practitioners to head the Legal Units.
